a creative archive
This is a creative archive: a record of work, observation, and making.
Cognitive respite is the thread.
The idea that a space, an image, or an object can give the mind somewhere to rest.
A frame does this literally. What was once a three-dimensional world becomes a considered composition.
The eye is no longer navigating the world directly; it is receiving an interpretation of it through the artist’s act of noticing.
That is where the respite happens: in encountering something that has already done the work of attention for you.
Without that act of framing, what separates the image from the scene itself?
